If the combined thickness of your carpet and pad is 1″ or under, we recommend the CP series, with its relatively compact, acute-tapering spike.
If the combined thickness of your carpet and pad is over 1″, we suggest the DCP series, which provides 160% of the piercing depth as well as the sharpest spike-tip you’ll find on any brass footer anywhere.
Both series also work well with area rugs, Persian carpets, throw rugs and the like.
Components, platforms or racks of 5~90 pounds are well-suited to the use of three or four pieces of the CP1 or DCP2. Get them threaded if at all possible; unthreaded will also work if you’re limited to that–or if you’re simply comfortable with the configuration.
Components, platforms or racks of ~ 50-2500 pounds are suitable for use with the larger and more massive CP3 and DCP3 X. Each of these 3″ footers is substantially more than two kilos each and packs a wallop.
